Boker 1906 Castle Burg Pocket Knife

A piece of history in your pocket.  Castle Burg castle is located near the Boker Knife companies factory in Solingen, Germany.  The castle was constructed under the direction of Adolf von Berg on the foundations of a 10^th century fortress and was completed in 1133.  Today, it is one of the biggest castles in western Germany.  Right now, large parts of the castle are being faithfully restored. This includes the replacement of ancient solid oak planks. This inspired Boker to preserve the historic wood material reclaimed from the castle for future generations, skillfully turning the ancient wood into knife handles in their Solingen factory.

Apart from the knife handles of historic oak wood sourced from Burg Castle, the knives also feature brass liners and blades made from O1 carbon steel. Highlighting the authenticity of the knives, the blades are finished with a special acid wash, which also protects them from harmful environmental impact.  The 1906 Castle Burg is a strictly limited-edition of 1133 pieces worldwide, each with its number stamped on the edge of the blade.

Boker spared no effort in bringing the 1906 back to life. The design is more than a hundred years old, but its clear lines are still much-loved today.  Neither old tools nor prototypes or design drawings existed, so they had to redesign the knife from scratch, guided by traditional methods throughout the whole production process. The result is a charismatic pocketknife with a new lease on life, a very special piece with individual serial number.
