About No. 004. Cut from quarter-inch 80CrV2, with G10 scales shaped by hand on the grinder. No two are ever the same — this handle's contour is its own, and the finish on this head came up the way only this one did. It ships in a Kydex sheath formed for this exact axe.
One of one. The axe you receive is the axe in these photographs. When it sells, it is gone.
A bearded Viking profile on modern full tang construction. The beard gives you a long cutting edge and somewhere to choke up for finer work, and quarter-inch stock means it swings with authority. The one people pick up first when they walk into the shop.
Timber axes are made one at a time at our shop on Main Street in Heber City, Utah. Ground here, heat treated here, handles shaped here, sharpened here. Not a factory tool with our name on it.
Caring for carbon steel. 80CrV2 will patina with use and will rust if neglected. Wipe it dry after use and keep a light coat of oil on the head. Food-grade mineral oil is all it needs.
